Happy New Year from WestCoastCo!
2018 has been a roller coaster for all of us: we've grown, we've changed, and we've welcomed so many wonderful friends to the WestCoastCo. family. Here's our wrap up of this incredible year, and here's to an even better 2019!
2018 really started with a bang! Our first launch of the year was our biggest yet with the reveal of a new website for The United Benefice of Dolphinholme, Quernmore and Over Wyresdale. With no existing modern standard for church websites in the UK, this one was a whole new experience, and we loved every second of it!
January was also when we had our first major collaboration with Route Nine Studios - we filmed "The Legend of The Giants" for our client Down By The Riverside Festival, which we would release later in the year.
What a month! We started February with a visit to Key Mortgage Advice's new Southport office for their selling workshop - a special treat for Arin, as she grew up in the area.
Next up was the launch of our first ever email course; "Buying On Belief". If you haven't signed up yet, the course is still available for a limited time, and we've had some spectacular feedback! SIGN UP HERE.
Following on from the email course, we hosted our first event at Society One. Based on the same values-focused principles, we made some wonderful new friends and we can't wait to do it all over again in 2019!
We finished this month by celebrating International Rare Disease Day with Down By The Riverside Festival. Arin's LinkedIn article written for the occasion talks about why this day is such an important one for us.
This month started with a celebration of International Women's Day; important for us not only because we're a company founded and run by a woman, but because we work with so many incredible women every day.
March also saw our first Community Coffee Break to raise money for Neuro Drop In. We shared the event with The United Benefice of Dolphinholme, Quernmore and Over Wyresdale, and along with our awesome Body Shop at Home rep, Jo, we raised about £150 for the charity!
Finally, we launched the spectacular "The Legend of The Giants" short film with Route Nine Studios! Featuring Arin's illustrations and an original poem by Teri from RNS, we're so proud to have been a part of this awesome project:
This was a huge month for us: after 16 months of outsourcing, we decided to take the plunge and offer WordPress website hosting directly through WestCoastCo. This has enabled us to really improve our customer service, as we no longer have to rely on third parties! Click here to find out more about our hosting services.
April also saw us jumping head first into the world of PR, with Arin appearing on BBC Radio Lancashire to discuss Down By The Riverside Festival, and landing a guest blog with the fantastic Local Women In Business.
We'll start with the important stuff... we celebrated Logan's birthday this month!
Logan continued our PR success in May by landing a guest post on one of our favourite blogs; Digital Drum. Click here to read his post, "A Slice Of Humble Pie (How To Avoid Eating It)."
Arin made use of her knowledge of real ale from her years of bar and cellar management this month with an exciting trip to Farm Yard Ales to learn more about their special brew for Down By The Riverside Festival. Watch their live interview from the Tap Room below!
June was festival month for WestCoastCo! Down By The Riverside Festival took place this month, and we were hard at work co-ordinating photographers, managing performers and meeting charity representatives. We're looking forward to doing it all again this Summer!
Important stuff first again - it was Arin's birthday this month!
July saw Arin taking a trip to London for the Coed:Ethics conference. Working ethically is something that we really focus on with every service we offer, so it was fascinating to learn more about ethics in the world of tech. Find out more about Arin's trip in her blog.
Logan made a new friend this month when he discovered a poorly hedgehog at the side of the road. We packaged him up with some hay and took him to our friends at Lanes Vets who kindly took him in.
This month also saw our exciting artistic collaboration with Change Clothing! We're looking forward to working with them in 2019.
This month was seriously busy! After returning from our spectacular holiday in sunny Scotland, we headed straight to Preston to deliver our workshop, "For The Love Of LinkedIn" for the lovely ladies at Key Mortgage Advice. We're delivering this workshop via an online 7-day course in just 2 weeks - join us here!
Once back from Preston, we launched Key Mortgage Advice's online mortgage calculator - check it out!
September also saw us celebrating International Ataxia Awareness Day with the Preston support group; one of the most important days in our calendar.
We rounded off this month with a trip to Leeds to visit Lighthouse Futures Trust. It was great to meet the team and bounce some ideas around for their new website. We can't wait for the big launch!
October was probably the most exciting month of 2018, because Arin and Logan got engaged! Keep up to date with the wedding plans by following Arin on Pinterest.
This month, we took part in the "Wear It Pink" campaign for breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer has impacted our extended WestCoastCo. family, so this month we stood with our clients whilst raising money for Breast Cancer Now.
Finally, in October we launched a brand new website for Scan Tech Surveys. This was one of our most important projects to date, as it was the first to be built on our new CMS - we think it was a big success!
This month saw the launch of what was literally our biggest project to date - this website is huge! SICES UK approached us to develop a new website with content from SICES EU; including an enormous download catalogue and user management system.
We won our second award in November (and we couldn't have done it without you!) - Best SME Marketing Solutions Company 2018 in the North West Enterprise Awards.
November had us feeling very festive with Quernmore's Christmas Tree Festival. We were delighted to sponsor this fantastic event for a second year, and we're pleased to announce that it raised a massive £5,000 for the community!
This month, we celebrated our second birthday. We've only made it this far because of our incredible clients, so we'd like to say a huge thank you to you all!
